We are seeing a huge increase in failures of these infotainment screens.
 
After about 1-3 years of use, the glue adhesive will separate from the plastic touch layer and cause a bubble that will get worse over time.
 
This delamination causes the following issues on your Uconnect display:
 
Random setting adjustment
Unable to control settings, AC, calls, phone, radio
Erratic or random ghost touching
Embarassing, unslightly appearance with bubbles, peeling, or delamination.
 
Of course, this failure happens when you are just outside of warranty. The dealer will present you with a $1,400+ bill to replace the infotainment unit. Of course, you then have to deal with this every couple years.
 
So the dealer option is not great- what should you do?
